Church, since 1993. Under his dynamic leadership and vision, Van Dyke is a loving and thriving church in
Tampa,
Florida. Matthew places a high value on continuous learning and has developed a culture of encouragement, shared knowledge and leading by example. His ministry revolves around helping people discover a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Matthew’s gifted teaching focuses on connecting people to God, connecting people to each other, and connecting the church to the community in meaningful ways that result in making disciples for Jesus Christ.
Matthew is a graduate of
Nova
Southeastern
University and holds a Master’s of Divinity (M. Div.) from
Emory
University. Prior to his ministry at Van Dyke, Matthew served churches in
Jacksonville and
Lake
Alfred. In 2007 he received The Denman Evangelism Award from the Florida United Methodist Conference for outstanding work in Christian Evangelism. Matthew is married to Maisie and they have two daughters, Sarah and Jill.
Matthew will tell you five things: 1. Love God and love each other. 2. It’s not about you. 3. Comparisons to other churches is not what Kingdom work is about. 4. I could not do it without a GREAT TEAM. 5. All of this is because of God’s work through the church and all the glory goes to Him.

University, a Masters of Divinity (M. Div.) from Christian Theological Seminary in
Indianapolis, and a Doctorate of Ministry (D. Min.) in leadership development from United Theological Seminary in
Ohio.
