 Why Become a Member?
The church is my family!
You are members of God’s very own family...and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian. Ephesians 2:19
God expects me to be a member.
All of you together are Christ's body, and each one of you is a separate and necessary part of it. 1 Corinthians 12:27
Without a church family, I am an orphan.
The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up only one body. So it is with the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12
Van Dyke Church is my spiritual family.
He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. Ephesians 4:16
Why Do I Need a Spiritual Family?
I need healthy relationships.
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
I need a place where I can use my gifts.
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 1 Peter 4:10
I need a place where I can grow!
They joined with the other believers and devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, sharing in the breaking of bread and prayer. Acts 2:42
I need to belong to something bigger than myself.
Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:4-5
What is Membership?
Being a member at Van Dyke means that you are becoming a part of our spiritual family and joining us on the most important and exciting journey you will ever take. A Christian life involves more than just believing.
It also includes belonging.
How Do I Become a Member?
1. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
You will need to have accepted Christ as your savior and have a relationship with Him.
2. Attend Explore Van Dyke Class.
Explore is a one-time, one-hour class that is required before attending the Membership Class. Click here for the next Explore Class.
3. Attend the Membership Class.
Our Membership Class is completed in just six one-hour sessions.
When are the Next Classes?
Classes are in Room 213 in Building C.
